Dicey Table

Bots

Play board games against the computer

You can play against the computer on DiceyTable when your friends are busy. Chess and Reversi / Othello both have bots. You add a bot to an empty seat in the lobby, pick how hard it plays, and start.

Open the game, make a room and choose the Scripted variant, where the game's script enforces the rules. Click the empty seat, choose a bot and set its difficulty. Chess offers Maia, a bot trained to play like people, and a Minimax bot that searches ahead. Othello offers three trained AI bots and a Minimax bot.

Bots run in the host's browser, so nobody else's device does extra work. You can mix bots and friends at one table, and a game against a bot can be ranked.

What is DiceyTable?

DiceyTable is a free 3D virtual tabletop that runs in your browser. You play on a shared table with real physics, and in games that have bots, a computer player sits in an empty seat and takes its turns like anyone else.

Only Chess and Reversi / Othello have lobby bots with a difficulty setting today. Texas Hold'em seats its own bots from buttons on the table. Other games need human players. You still need a free account to play, even on your own.

Set up a game against a bot

Open Chess or Othello, choose the Scripted variant and seat a bot in the empty chair.
