An AI agent can build, preview and play-test your DiceyTable game for you. It works in a browser tab you connect, and it acts as you, with your permissions and nothing more.

Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code with Copilot and other apps can all do it. They plug in through MCP, an open standard for giving an AI app new tools. If that's new to you, [What is MCP?](https://diceytable.com/docs/ai-agents/concepts/what-is-mcp) explains it in plain words. Agent access is free on every plan. For a tour of what people make this way, see [Build a board game with AI](https://diceytable.com/features/ai-agents-mcp).

## What an agent can do

- **Build.** It can create a project and place entities. It adds engine components, materials, seats, zones and snap points. It picks the room and the table, builds decks and writes scripts. [Build a game with an agent](https://diceytable.com/docs/ai-agents/workflows/build-a-game) walks through the whole loop.
- **Reach every control.** Each field in the editor, the table and the lobby has a fixed id. The agent can read or set any of them, even when no special tool exists for that field.
- **Import files.** It can bring in a model, image or sound from your computer or from an `https://` link. DiceyTable fetches web files through a guarded proxy and keeps a record of each one.
- **Play-test.** It opens a private preview, plays through it, checks what should be true and reads the errors every tab reports.
- **See.** It takes screenshots of the 3D view, cards, textures and panels. It can also ask for a panel as plain text, which is cheaper.
- **Test multiplayer.** It can set up a lobby, pick a game and decks, get ready and start.

## What an agent can't do

- **See more than you.** At a table it sees only what your seat sees, even when you're the host. Hidden cards and the deck order stay hidden. See [hidden cards and AI agents](https://diceytable.com/docs/ai-agents/concepts/hidden-information).
- **Skip you on big changes.** Publishing, deleting a project and kicking a player always wait for your click in the tab. See [actions that need your click](https://diceytable.com/docs/ai-agents/concepts/confirmations).
- **Touch your account.** Keys, billing, the store, friends, reviews and admin pages have no agent tools at all.
- **Earn rewards.** A session with any agent time earns no dice chips and records no stats. See [AI agents, dice chips and stats](https://diceytable.com/docs/ai-agents/concepts/chips-and-stats).
- **Hide.** While an agent is connected, other players see an **AI** badge by your name. See [the AI badge other players see](https://diceytable.com/docs/ai-agents/concepts/multiplayer-disclosure).

## What you need

You need a DiceyTable account and an MCP app such as Claude Code. You also need Node.js 20.19 or newer and a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Setup takes about 10 minutes. The [quick start](https://diceytable.com/docs/ai-agents/quick-start) gets you from nothing to a first screenshot.
